Sir Paul Adams
Sir Paul is Executive Chairman of Carrus.
After qualifying as a Civil Engineer in 1969 in Wellington, Sir Paul developed a career in civil engineering contracting, not only representing the New Zealand Contractors Federation on various committees, but also commencing his own practice in civil engineering becoming heavily involved in Arbitration and Contract Law.
From 1990 to date, under his company 'Carrus', he has built up one of the largest land development operations in the Bay of Plenty producing 200-300 lots per year and selling on average 200 lots per annum.
In the past few years, however, Sir Paul has not only continued with land development which has branched out to other areas including Rotorua, Taupo, Hamilton, Palmerston North and Wellington, but extended his business to encompass a commercial portfolio predominately in the Bay of Plenty, Wellington and Auckland.
Sir Paul was voted 2013 Westpac Business Leader of the Year in the Bay of Plenty, was appointed a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to business and philanthropy and more recently has been appointed a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his services to philanthropy and the community.
